Optometry Tomorrow 2026: College Conference Recap
Optometry Tomorrow 2026, the College of Optometrists' biennial flagship conference, took place on 14 and 15 June at Harrogate Convention Centre in North Yorkshire — bringing together optometrists, dispensing opticians, contact lens opticians, ophthalmic nurses and ophthalmologists from across the UK.

What Happened At Harrogate
This year's conference was delivered in partnership with the Association of British Dispensing Opticians, the Royal College of Nursing and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists — the first time the College has brought all three bodies in as official conference partners.
The two-day programme offered more than 90 CPD points across over 50 sessions, with clinical content built around four key areas: AI in eye care, glaucoma management, dry eye disease and myopia control.
Why It Matters For Independent Practice
Multidisciplinary CPD events like this give independent practice owners and their teams the chance to pick up clinical updates across the full range of conditions they see day to day — without needing a corporate training calendar to access them. For independents balancing patient care with running a business, a single event covering AI, glaucoma, dry eye and myopia in one place is a practical way to keep the whole team current.
